Ancillary Service Endorsements

There are four main places that an Ancillary Service Endorsement may be placed:

Endorsement Placement

The following table gives the results for each endorsement. Your Mailrite Account Manager can advise you on the costs and benefits of these choices for your mailing.

Address Service Requested
Months 1 though 12:
mailpiece forwarded; notice of new address provided; address correction fee charged.		 Forwarded at no charge. Forwarded at no charge.
Months 13 through 18:
mailpiece returned with new address attached.		 Returned at no charge. Weighted fee charged at the single-piece First Class Mail rate for the piece, plus the nonmachinable surcharge if it applies, multiplied by 2.472 and rounded up to the next whole cent.
After 18 months or if undeliverable at any time:
mailpiece returned with reason for nondelivery attached.		 Returned at no charge.
Return Service Requested
Mailpiece returned with new address or reason for nondelivery attached. No charge. Appropriate single-piece First Class Mail rate charged.
Change Service Requested
No forwarding or return. New address notification provided. Manual notice: Not available.
Electronic notice: $0.06 each.		 Manual notice: $0.50 ea.
Electronic Notice: $0.25 ea.
Separate notice of new address or reason for nondelivery provided; mailpiece disposed of by USPS.

Automated letters:

  • first two notices - $0.00 ea.
  • additional - $0.05 ea.

Automated letters:

  • first two notices - $0.02 ea.
  • additional - $0.15 ea.
Forwarding Service Requested
Months 1 through 12:
mailpiece forwarded.		 Forwarded at no charge. Forwarded at no charge.
Months 13 though 18:
mailpiece returned with new address attached.		 Returned at no charge Weighted fee charged at the single-piece First Class Mail rate for this piece, plus the nonmachineable surcharge if it applies, multiplied by 2.472 and rounded up to the next whole cent.
After 18 months or if undeliverable at any time:
mailpiece returned with reason for nondelivery attached. 		Returned at no charge.
No Endorsement
Differs depending on Mail Class: Same as USPS action for "Forwarding Service Requested." Mailpiece disposed of by USPS.
